Details: In Maya Angelou's 86 years of life she published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, several books of poetry, and a list of plays, movies and television shows spanning over 50 years. A respected spokesperson for black people and women, Angelou's works are considered a defense of black culture and are widely used in schools and universities world wide. This living history portrayal gives insight into how and why she wrote, and her life philosophy that included a strong belief in the power of words. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Central Library Branch at 970-243-4442
