3rd Annual Grand Valley Yoga Fest 100% of the proceeds going to Suicide Awareness and Mental Health programs in the Grand Valley Where: Palisade High School, Palisade, CO When: June 2 – 4, 2023 The Grand Valley Yoga Fest is a non-profit yoga festival with a twist…… We aim to come together as a community to Connect, have Fun, and to Give Back through yoga. 100% of our proceeds go to mental health and suicide awareness programs in the Grand Valley. About the Cause. Mesa County suicide rates have consistently outpaced the per capita rate of the state and national level for several years now. The Grand Valley Yoga Fest started with 2 local yoga teachers, Elizabeth Whitt and Lori Raper, who were determined to make a difference in their community for mental health and suicide. Being in the yoga world, they are aware of the positive outcomes that yoga can have on mental health. With suicide numbers continuing to rise and in many cases funding for mental health declining, they collaborated to design a yoga festival to spread yoga, get community members to connect and have fun through yoga, as well as give back. Over a 2½ day period, there will be 30+ offerings of a variety of yoga classes for everyBODY. Classes range from Physical Asana, Meditation, SUP Yoga, AcroYoga, Slacklining, Yoga Philosophy, Kirtan, Dance, Sound Ceremony, Live Music and more. Ticket holders will be able to build a schedule of classes based on their interests. Throughout the weekend, there will be free offerings to the community, including Live Musical events, panel discussions, a cacao ceremony, and a Keynote speaker. We are excited to also offer a free Youth only class and a free Veterans, Military, and 1st Responders only class, three vulnerable populations at risk for mental health issues. Ticket prices are kept affordable, so the festival is accessible by all. There are discounted tickets for youth, military, & 1st Responders. If someone is experiencing financial hardship, we have sponsors so we can help with costs to make it accessible. There are other “big named” yoga festivals in Boulder, Telluride, California, etc., but we are unique in our approach as a non-profit with a focus on Mental Health. Also, ticket costs at other festivals are $400+ with a schedule of presenters like ours. We are very excited to offer a talented lineup in our hometown at an affordable cost. For more information about the event, the schedule, teachers, tickets, or to become a sponsor click here www.grandvalleyyogafest.com The Grand Valley Yoga Fest is a non-profit.
