APRIL WRITER'S NIGHT | WESTERN CO WRITERS' FORUM
Comedy for Everybody (no matter what you write!)
6:00pm-7:30pm, 1803 N. 7th Street
Anyone can do standup comedy. Yes, anyone. Everyone has a go-to list of jokes or funny stories they share at parties to elicit laughs and chuckles.

So how do you take those random and unrelated topics and compile them into a deliverable standup set? Well, writing of course. Come and chat with a local comedian as she shares her approach to writing for standup and stringing together the perfect set. Our presenter: Emilie Stickley is a Western Slope native and co-founder of the local comedy group Joke Junction. Writing has always been a hobby in her life; from the smattering of paragraphs that would never become novels to poetry and comedy sets, Emilie finds writing in any form to be a great creative outlet. Her passion for standup comedy has led her to performing at various venues around town, and finally to cultivating the Grand Valley’s first ever comedy exclusive open mic night. In the future Emilie hopes to continue creating spaces and opportunities for comedic expression including shows and workshops.
