This family friendly event kicks off with registration at 9:00am on Saturday, January 7 at Matchett Park, the proposed site for the community recreation center. The race course follows the perimeter of this 205 acre park, so you can see the proposed site for the community recreation center. Is running not in your repertoire? No problem! This event is truly for all ages! Whether you walk, run, jog or skip -- we'll all be winners when we have a community recreation center! Treat yourself to a morning of community and fun! Free stylish t-shirts for first 250 adult registrations, with additional prizes provided by Loki! Registration is available now through January 7, with same day registration for $30.00. Dolores River Boating Advocates will be hosting their 10th annual permit party on January 27th, 2023 from 6-10pm at the Dolores Community Center. The more...0 event is a fundraiser to support the work they do to advocate for, steward, and connect our community with the Dolores River. Food from Absolute Bakery and Cafe, local beer from Dolores River Brewery, WildEdge, Mancos Brewing, and Telluride Brewing, cider from Fenceline, and and assortment of wines will all be available for purchase. Entertainment will include short films and live music from Tha ‘Yoties! The event also hosts an amazing selection of auction items including boating gear, outdoor gear, trips, art, gift certificates, and more! Auction items will be available for bidding online from January 16-27th. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Children 12 and under get in free.

Eric Gross and Emily Jurick perform and record their original songs and an eclectic catalog of much-loved songs by their favorite artists. With their unique arrangements and warm, skillfully blended vocal harmonies, Wild Flight delivers a fun and interesting show.

A Slice of Life Out of America’s Past | Pat Martin

A native of Oklahoma, local author Patricia Martin grew up listening to the stories told by her maternal grandmother of her early life homesteading more...0 on the plains of Kansas and Oklahoma in the late 1800s. Martin’s determination to chronicle these true stories resulted in the exciting historical novel, A Meadowlark Calling, once described by 20th Century Fox as “a slice of life out of America’s past.” Please join us Feb. 7, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Art Center in Grand Junction for Pat’s slide presentation featuring the real people and places depicted in her book, which is set for filming in 2023 by Talmarc Productions. The WCWF has also requested that Pat recite one or two of her cowboy-style poems!
